Issa, a 60-year-old fisherman, lives in the Gaza Strip, where life can be a catastrophe and interpersonal relationships can be an individual’s salvation. He is secretly in love with the widow Siham. One night, he catches an ancient statue of Apollo in his net. Issa’s longing for Siham promises happiness, the statue brings trouble and the hypocritical Hamas is omnipresent. Arab and Tarzan Nasser skilfully counter the predictable with absurdity and the tragic with comedy, delivering a defiant irreverent plea for hope and humanity in the midst of everyday Palestinian life.
