Shortly before her death in late 1978, Golda Meir gave an interview on Israeli television. When the broadcast ended, the cameras kept rolling and captured a rare private conversation with the former prime minister, seen for the first time in this illuminating portrait, in which she talks about the high personal price she paid at the head of the Knesset. She looks back on the turbulent five years of her tenure, the nadir of which being the 1973 Yom Kippur War – the biggest blemish on her political legacy.
